The USC/Notre Dame rivalry gave NBC a shot in the arm on Saturday afternoon.
USC’s win over Notre Dame drew a 4.5 overnight rating on NBC, up 165% from a 1.7 for the same matchup in ’07. Overnight ratings for last year’s Notre Dame/USC game on ESPN were unavailable.
The 4.5 overnight is the highest for a Notre Dame game on NBC since ’06, and the highest overnight for a Notre Dame game on any network since Notre Dame/Michigan earlier this season (5.6 on ABC).
In the late afternoon window on Saturday, USC/Notre Dame topped regional college football action ABC, but fell behind Arkansas/Florida on CBS.
