CBS is on a roll with coverage of SEC football.
Saturday’s Arkansas/Florida game drew a 4.8 overnight rating on CBS, up 78% from a 2.7 for last year’s comparable Tennessee/Georgia game. The 4.8 overnight is tied as the second-highest of the season for a college football telecast on CBS, behind only a 6.8 for last week’s Florida/LSU game.
The 78% increase for Arkansas/Florida follows a 62% jump for last week’s aforementioned Florida/LSU game, a 42% rise for LSU/Georgia the week before that, and a 60% increase for Florida/Tennessee in September.
The Gators have now accounted for the three highest overnights of the season for college football on CBS.
Arkansas/Florida drew the second-highest overnight for any college football game on broadcast over the weekend, topping USC/Notre Dame on NBC (4.5) and finishing behind Oklahoma/Texas on ABC (6.4).
