Heading towards the midway point of the season, NFL coverage is drawing solid numbers on CBS.
Through Week 6 of the season, CBS is averaging a 10.2/21 rating and 16.6 million viewers for NFL coverage, up 5% and 8%, respectively, from a 9.7/21 and 15.3 million through the same point last year. The 16.6 million viewers is the most for the NFL on CBS through Week 6 of the season since 1990, when the network aired the NFC package.
Last week, CBS drew a 14.6 and 23.9 million viewers for coverage of Titans/Patriots and Bills/Jets in the late afternoon window, down slightly in ratings and up slightly in viewership from comparable coverage on FOX last year.
Earlier in the day, regional coverage featuring Ravens/Vikings drew a 9.3 and 15.1 million viewers, up 21% in ratings from a 7.7 for comparable coverage on FOX last year.
