Fox Sports 1 Acquires Westminster Dog Show
- Fox Sports has reached a 10-year deal to carry the Westminster Dog Show starting in 2017, Sports Business Journal reported Monday. Under the deal, the two-night event will air live on Fox Sports 1. USA Network has carried the event each year since 1984, though this year it split duties with NBC Universal sibling CNBC. (Sports Business Journal)
ESPN Extends Deals With Missouri Valley, Southern Conferences
- ESPN and the Missouri Valley Conference have agreed to a ten-year media rights extension, it was announced last week. ESPN will continue to hold rights to MVC basketball tournament games, including the men’s championship — which has been sub-licensed to CBS under a separate agreement that ends this season. NBC to Air All Three NHL Outdoor Games Next Season
- NBC Sports announced its 2015-16 NHL television schedule on Monday, with the NBC broadcast network set to air all three of the league’s outdoor games. First among them is the Canadiens/Bruins Winter Classic, which will air on NBC as usual on January 1. That is followed by the Wild/Blackhawks Stadium Series game on February 21, which will serve as the second half of a Hockey Day in America doubleheader. The outdoor slate concludes with Red Wings/Avalanche in primetime on February 27. Overall, NBC will carry 12 NHL windows during the regular season, and NBCSN 93.
