ABC saw big declines for both of its college football games last Saturday.
Saturday Night Football, featuring USC/Oregon or Texas/Oklahoma State, drew a 4.2 rating and 6.8 million viewers on ABC, down 34% in ratings and viewership from last year’s comparable Ohio St./Penn St. game (6.4, 10.4 mil).
Despite the declines, the 6.8 million viewers is the third-most of the season for Saturday Night Football.
Compared to other Saturday night sports offerings, USC/Oregon and Texas/Oklahoma State finished well behind Game 3 of the World Series on FOX (9.1, 15.8 mil), but blew away Washington St./Notre Dame on NBC (1.4, 2.3 mil).
Earlier in the day, ABC drew a 3.2 rating for regional action featuring Miami/Wake Forest, down 38% from a 5.1 for comparable coverage last year.
