With two games rescheduled due to inclement weather, FOX saw overnight ratings drop for both of its NFL games Sunday.
The NFL national window, featuring Packers/Steelers or 49ers/Eagles, drew a 15.1/28 overnight rating on FOX Sunday afternoon. Sunday’s telecast was down 1% from a 15.3/29 for last year’s Week 15 national window (mostly Steelers/Ravens, CBS), and down 9% from a 16.5/31 for last week’s national window (Chargers/Cowboys, CBS).
The 15.1 overnight is tied as the second-lowest of the season for the NFL national window on FOX. Only the Week 1 national window (mostly Washington/Giants) drew a lower overnight on the network.
Earlier in the day, coverage featuring Falcons/Jets drew an 8.5/17 overnight, off 17% from a 10.2/21 for the comparable window last year (mostly Bills/Jets, CBS), and down 33% from a 12.6/26 last week (mostly Bengals/Vikings, CBS).
Falcons/Jets was originally only scheduled to air in 24% of the country. However, with both 49ers/Eagles and Bears/Ravens moving from 1 PM to 4:15 PM, the game aired in 86% of the country.
So far this season, FOX is averaging a 12.7/25 overnight rating for NFL coverage, up 5% from a 12.1/24 last year.
