Pac-12 upsets have moved the needle on FOX this season.
The Oregon/Stanford college football game drew a 2.0 overnight rating on FOX Saturday night, up 43% from Kansas State/TCU last year (1.4), up 25% from Texas/West Virginia in 2013 (1.6), and the network’s third-highest overnight of the season (13 telecasts).
The Ducks’ upset win trailed only two other Pac-12 surprises — USC’s rout of then-#3 Utah in week eight (2.4) and Utah’s rout of Oregon in week four (2.1). Those are the only three games on FOX this season to draw at least a 2.0 overnight.
Head-to-head, Oregon/Stanford tied LSU/Arkansas on ESPN (2.0) but was no match for Oklahoma/Baylor on ABC (4.2). In a rarity, it was not the lowest rated game of the weekend on broadcast — just the third time this season that FOX has avoided that dubious distinction. This week, NBC brought up the rear with Wake Forest/Notre Dame (1.4).
