Despite the presence of the Cowboys, overnight ratings for Sunday Night Football slumped on NBC.
The Cowboys’ win over Washington drew an 11.6 overnight rating on NBC Sunday night, down 10% from a 12.9 for Panthers/Giants in Week 16 last year, and down 3% from a 12.0 for Vikings/Panthers last week.
The 11.6 overnight is the lowest for a Sunday Night Football telecast on NBC since Cardinals/Giants drew a 10.4 in Week 7, and the third-lowest SNF overnight of the season.
Additionally, the 11.6 is the lowest for a Sunday Night Football game involving the Cowboys since a November ’07 Cowboys/Eagles game drew an 11.5. This is only the second time since NBC resumed airing NFL games in ’06 that a Cowboys game on the network has drawn less than a 12.0 overnight rating.
