Santa Claus delivered FOX a rather large lump of coal for Week 16.
Sunday’s NFL singleheader on FOX, which featured the Panthers’ blowout of the Giants, drew a 9.4 overnight rating — down 34% from a 14.3 for last year’s Week 16 singleheader (mostly Steelers/Titans, CBS).
Compared to last week’s singleheader (mostly Bengals/Chargers, CBS), Sunday’s telecast was down 21% from an 11.9 overnight.
The 9.4 overnight is the third-lowest of the season for the NFL singleheader window, and is tied as the 8th-lowest overnight for any NFL telecast on broadcast this season*.
* That does not include the Week 14 singleheader on FOX, for which overnight ratings were unavailable.
