For the third straight week, overnight ratings increased for the NFL singleheader window.
The Week 14 NFL singleheader earned an 11.3 overnight rating on CBS Sunday afternoon, up a tick from last year (11.2) but down 15% from 2013 (13.3). The 11.3 is tied with the previous week as the second-highest for the singleheader on CBS this season (seven telecasts).
Though strong for CBS, the 11.3 matches the lowest overnight for the singleheader on FOX (also seven telecasts).
Overnights for the singleheader window have now increased in four of the past five weeks and eight of 14 overall — ahead of the early doubleheader window (7 of 14) and the late national window (5 of 14). Compared to primetime, however, it trails NBC’s Sunday Night Football (10 of 14*), ESPN’s Monday Night Football (9 of 13) and Thursday Night Football simulcasts on CBS and NFL Network (5 of 8).
* Not counting the NFL Kickoff Game and Thanksgiving night games, which also increased.
