The NFL’s Divisional Round opened on a down note.
Saturday’s Chiefs/Patriots NFL Divisional Round game earned 31.5 million viewers on CBS, down 7% from Ravens/Patriots on NBC last year (34.0M) but up 1% from Saints/Seahawks on FOX in 2014 (31.1M). Ratings were not immediately available.
The Patriots’ win was the least-watched game of Divisional Round weekend, trailing Packers/Cardinals on NBC later in the night (33.7M). It is relatively rare for the Saturday afternoon Divisional game to trail the Saturday night window, with this year marking just the third such occurrence in eight years.
Viewership was also the lowest for a Patriots playoff game since their 2010 Wild Card loss to the Ravens (27.4M).
