ESPN has officially welcomed back Rachel Nichols, who will host a new NBA talk show for the network.
Nichols has rejoined ESPN after three years with CNN and Turner Sports, ESPN announced Wednesday, with her official return set for February 1. She will begin hosting a new weekday NBA show titled The Jump on February 18, which will air at 3:30 PM ET from ESPN’s Los Angeles studios.
The new show will feature ESPN’s usual slate of reporters and analysts, as well as current and former players. News of the show, and Nichols’ involvement, was initially reported by Sports Illustrated on Sunday.
In addition to The Jump, Nichols will also appear “extensively” on SportsCenter, serve as an occasional host of Outside the Lines, and contribute to E:60.
Nichols is entering her second stint with ESPN, having previously worked for the network from 2004-13. In her previous role, she mostly covered the NFL. The NBA became her primary beat during her years with CNN/Turner, as she served as a sideline reporter for TNT’s NBA games.
