The latest edition of the UFC on FOX sank by double-digits from last year.
UFC on FOX 18 earned a 1.6 final rating and 2.7 million viewers Saturday night, down 11% in ratings and 12% in viewership from last year’s January card (1.8, 3.0M) and down 16% and 15%, respectively, from January 2014 (1.9, 3.2M). Compared to the previous UFC on FOX telecast in December, ratings were flat and viewership dropped 3% from 2.8 million.
Ratings and viewership were the lowest yet for the January edition of UFC on FOX (five telecasts), which is usually the highest rated and most-watched of the year. The performance snapped a streak of three straight UFC telecasts on FOX to post a year-over-year increase in viewership.
Among adults 18-49, the telecast scored a 1.0 rating — down 17% from last January (1.2) and down a tick from December (1.1).
The telecast faced competition from the Spurs/Cavaliers NBA game on ABC, which came out ahead in ratings (2.1), viewership (3.3M) and the adults 18-49 demographic (1.2).
