Barry Melrose to Co-Host SportsCenter
- ESPN NHL analyst Barry Melrose will co-host Tuesday’s 11 PM ET SportsCenter alongside Steve Levy, ESPN announced this week. An expansion of SportsCenter‘s regular “Levy lounge” segment, the episode will mark the first time Melrose has co-hosted an episode of the show. He joins a recent list of non-traditional SportsCenter hosts, including Stephen A. Smith and Ronda Rousey.
FS1 Hosts O’Toole, Onrait, to Return Next Week
- Fox Sports 1 co-hosts Dan O’Toole and Jay Onrait will return from an unscheduled hiatus when Fox Sports Live relaunches next Friday, according to The Big Lead. The former TSN SportsCentre anchors, who have publicly expressed dissatisfaction with FS1 in recent days, have been off the air since a Monday meeting with network executive Jamie Horowitz. - Longtime baseball writer Tom Singer passed away Monday at age 67. Singer, who began covering the sport in 1974, spent the past 15 years working for MLB.com and the past four covering the Pirates for the website. (MLB.com)
