NHRA Sees Bump in FS1 Debut
- The season opening NHRA event from Pomona, which marked the series’ debut on Fox Sports 1, scored 640,000 viewers last Sunday — up 5% from last year (680K) and up 12% from 2014 (570K), when coverage was tape delayed on ESPN. Though up from last year, the telecast ranked behind three Daytona 500 practice sessions and an ARCA Series race on the network last weekend. (via Awful Announcing)
Daytona ARCA Race Up on FS1
- ARCA series racing from Daytona had 1.1 million viewers on Fox Sports 1 last Saturday afternoon, up 16% from last year (919K) and up 9% from 2014 (975K). To put the numbers in perspective, the high water mark for the race remains 2.6 million for Danica Patrick‘s run in 2010. (via Awful Announcing)
NBA Trade Deadline Down on ESPN, Up on NBA TV
- ESPN’s NBA trade deadline special had 444,000 viewers Thursday afternoon, down 24% from last year (585K) but up 3% from 2014 (434K). Both last year and in 2014, the show aired in a slightly later timeslot. Airing immediately afterward, the premiere of ESPN’s new daily NBA show The Jump had 434,000. Over on NBA TV, trade deadline coverage had 96,000 — up 26% from last year (76K). (via Sports TV Ratings)
