An overtime thriller on ABC’s NBA Saturday Primetime hit a multi-year high in the metered markets.
The Warriors/Thunder NBA regular season game scored a 3.9 overnight rating on ABC Saturday night, the highest for a non-Christmas regular season game on any network in more than three years — since Lakers/Heat in February 2013 (5.0).
The 3.9 ranks well ahead of the three previous editions of NBA Saturday Primetime, Warriors/Clippers the week before (2.6), Spurs/Cavaliers on January 30 (2.5) and Bulls/Cavaliers on January 23 (2.9).
The Warriors’ win, which peaked at a 5.6 from 11:15-11:30 PM ET, scored a 14.9 rating in the Bay Area and a 14.6 in Oklahoma City. In the former, it was the highest rated regular season game ever on ESPN/ABC (excluding Christmas). In the latter, it was the top game on those networks since 2014.
