Viewership was up and down for the Premier League last weekend.
Last Sunday’s West Brom/Manchester United English Premier League match delivered 601,000 viewers on NBCSN, down 20% from Manchester United/Tottenham last year (752K) but the top match of the week. There were no Sunday matches in week 29 of the 2014 season.
Crystal Palace/Liverpool had 374,000 earlier in the day, down 28% from Chelsea/Southampton a year ago (521K).
The picture was brighter on Saturday, as Tottenham/Arsenal scored 475,000 in the early morning window — up 60% from Crystal Palace/Queens Park last year (297K) and up 134% from West Brom/Manchester United in 2014 (203K).
Watford/Leicester City drew 438,000 in the afternoon window, up 35% from Burnley/Manchester City last year (324K) but down 4% from Chelsea/Tottenham in ’14 (455K).
Sandwiched in between, Manchester City/Aston Villa had 379,000 in the mid-morning window — down 19% from Arsenal/West Ham last year (468K) but up 18% from Cardiff City/Fulham in ’14 (322K). Including the concurrent Everton/West Ham match on USA Network (214K), the combined audience of 593,000 topped last year by 27%.
