A week old game was easily the most-watched Premier League telecast of last weekend.
An encore presentation of the March 5 Arsenal/Tottenham English Premier League match earned a 0.4 final rating and 554,000 viewers on NBC last Saturday, up 100% in ratings and 135% in viewership from Sunderland/West Ham last year (0.2, 236K) and up a tick and 25%, respectively, Aston Villa/Chelsea in 2014 (0.3, 444K), both of which aired live on NBCSN.
The week-old match was easily the top Premier League telecast of the week, which is notable even given its broadcast network exposure. It also outdrew the live telecast of the match, which had 475,000 on NBCSN in an early morning window.
Earlier in the day, Stoke City/Southampton scored 332,000 on NBCSN — down 34% from Newcastle/Arsenal last year (500K) and down 8% from Sunderland/Crystal Palace in 2014 (360K). The concurrent Bournemouth/Swansea match on USA had 208,000, bringing the window’s combined total to 540,000.
Norwich City/Manchester City drew 305,000 in the early window, down 31% from Manchester City/West Brom last year (439K) and down 2% from Hull City/Manchester City in ’14 (311K).
The declines were even steeper on Sunday, as Aston Villa/Tottenham scored just 280,000 viewers — down 54% from Hull City/Chelsea last year (604K) and down 58% from Tottenham/Arsenal in ’14 (670K). Wrapping up the week, Leicester City/Newcastle drew 231,000 on Monday. There were no comparable telecasts last year or in 2014.
