Ratings declined for four of the seven evening windows of the NCAA Tournament last week.
CBS drew a 5.7/11 final rating and 8.9 million viewers for its first evening NCAA Tournament telecast last Thursday, flat in ratings and down 1% in viewership from last year’s comparable telecast (5.7/10, 9.0 mil).
Thursday’s nightcap drew a 5.6/11 and 8.9 million viewers, up 12% and 14%, respectively, from last year (5.0/9, 7.8 mil).
Ratings were mixed on Friday night. The first evening window drew a 5.4/11 rating and 8.6 million viewers, up 20% in ratings and 21% in viewership from last year (4.5/9, 7.1 mil).
Meanwhile, the second telecast drew a 5.1/10 and 8.2 million, down 9% and 8%, respectively, from last year (5.6/11, 8.9 mil).
On Saturday, second round coverage drew a 6.5/15 and 10.5 million viewers in the 5:30 PM window, down 3% in ratings but up 2% in viewership from last year (6.7/15, 10.3 mil).
Later in the night, additional NCAA Tournament coverage drew a 6.1/12 and 10.3 million, down 6% and 5%, respectively, from last year (6.5/12, 10.8 mil).
Finally, CBS saw a decline for its late window on Sunday (5 PM), which drew a 6.8/14 and 10.9 million viewers — down 7% and 3%, respectively, from last year’s 7.3/15 and 11.2 million.
Ratings and viewership were not immediately available for last week’s afternoon windows.
