For just the third time in the past three seasons, FOX scored a 2.0 overnight for Major League Baseball.
Regional MLB action on FOX earned a 2.0 overnight rating Saturday night, up 25% from last year (1.6), up 43% from the network’s fourth telecast in 2014 (1.4), and the highest of the young season.
Going back further, the 2.0 is the network’s third-highest overnight in the past three years — behind a telecast in July of last year (2.2) and one in June 2014 (2.3). None of the network’s 24 other telecasts over that span have cracked the 2.0 mark.
Overnights have now increased for three of the first four MLB telecasts on FOX this season. One of the previous two, it should be noted, ended up declining in the final nationals.
Despite the solid numbers, MLB on FOX was topped head-to-head by part one of ESPN’s 30 For 30 documentary O.J.: Made in America on ABC (2.8).
