Though not anything to brag about, FOX scored a slight increase in viewership for its third PBC event.
The third primetime edition of Premier Boxing Champions on FOX earned a 1.1 final rating and 1.8 million viewers last Saturday night, flat in ratings and up 9% in viewership from the second telecast in April (1.1, 1.6M) and down 27% and 30%, respectively, from the inaugural edition in January (1.5, 2.5M).
Despite modest gains, the telecast delivered the fourth-smallest audience for the PBC on primetime network television (11 telecasts). Compared to other recent primetime telecasts, Saturday’s coverage topped NBC’s most recent window on June 18 (0.8, 1.2M) but was no match for coverage on CBS the following week (1.6, 2.4M).
In the adults 18-49 demo, the PBC on FOX scored a 0.4 rating — matching the network’s previous window in April. The 0.4 also matched coverage of the Nitro World Games on NBC, which took place at the same time.
In other recent PBC action, ESPN drew 410,000 for coverage on Thursday night and 403,000 last Friday — the second and third-smallest PBC audiences on the network.
