The final round of the Quail Hollow Championship drew decent, though unimpressive ratings on CBS.
Final round coverage of Rory McIlroy‘s win drew a 2.2 final rating on CBS, down 41% from last year (3.7), up 38% from 2008 (1.6) and down 35% from 2007 (3.5).
The 2.2 rating is tied as the second-lowest final round rating in the seven year history of the Quail Hollow Championship.
Despite the lower rating, Sunday’s telecast edged Bucks/Hawks Game 7 on ABC (2.1) and doubled the ratings of the NHL on NBC (1.1 on Saturday and Sunday). However, the final round finished well behind NASCAR on FOX (3.7) and Jazz/Hawks Game 1 on ABC (3.8).
Saturday’s third round action drew a 1.3 final rating, down 41% from last year (2.2), up 18% from ’08 (1.1) and down 46% from ’07 (2.4).
