Game 1 of the Suns/Lakers series drew a 5.3 overnight rating on TNT Monday night, down 7% from Magic/Cavaliers Game 1 on a Wednesday last year (5.7), up 4% from Spurs/Lakers Game 1 on a Wednesday in 2008 (5.1) and up 51% from Cavaliers/Pistons Game 1 in ’07 (3.5).
Overnight ratings for last year’s Nuggets/Lakers Game 1 on ESPN were not immediately available, but that game drew a 5.0 final rating.
For perspective, Game 1 of last year’s Phillies/Dodgers NLCS on TBS also drew a 5.3 overnight.
