ABC drew decent numbers for the second weekend of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Last Sunday’s Brazil/Ivory Coast match drew a 2.6 final rating and 4.459 million viewers on ABC. Meanwhile, Cameroon/Denmark on Saturday drew a 2.3 and 3.627 million.
The numbers for both telecasts are for the match portion only.
Including pre-match coverage, Brazil/Ivory Coast drew a 2.4 and 4.048 million viewers, up a tick in ratings and 20% in viewership from France/South Korea in a similar timeslot in 2006 (2.3, 3.387 mil).
Combined with the Univision telecast (1.8, 3.689 mil), the Brazil/Ivory Coast match drew approximately 7.7 million viewers. Again, that includes pre-match coverage.
Meanwhile, Cameroon/Denmark drew a 2.1 and 3.229 million viewers, not surprisingly down from the comparable United States/Italy match in ’06 (4.4, 6.733 mil).
Combined with the Univision telecast (1.2, 2.107 mil), the match drew approximately 5.3 million viewers.
