What more can be said about Monday Night Football‘s poor ratings?
Bengals/Giants had a 6.7 final rating and 10.7 million viewers on the Week 10 edition of ESPN’s Monday Night Football — down 13% in ratings and 12% in viewership from Texans/Bengals last year (7.7, 12.2M) and down 7% and 5%, respectively, from Panthers/Eagles in 2014 (7.2, 11.3M).
After avoiding a multi-year low in the overnights, Monday’s game ended as the lowest rated and least-watched Week 10 MNF telecasts in seven years — since Ravens/Browns in 2009 (6.5, 10.2M).
All 11 NFL telecasts on ESPN this season have hit multi-year lows in ratings, viewership and adults 18-49. In the demo, the game’s 3.6 rating fell 14% from last year (4.2) and 12% from 2014 (4.1).
The Giants’ win was the sixth straight Monday Night Football telecast to have less than a 7.0 rating, and the eighth of 11 overall. That doubles the previous three seasons combined (four). Just one MNF game all season has managed to crack an 8.0 rating — Giants/Vikings in Week 5.
Figures do not include streaming viewership on WatchESPN (234K).
