Overnight ratings fell for the Week 12 NFL singleheader. In other news, overnights were mixed for the weekend’s Pac-12 games on FOX, and the NHL’s annual Black Friday game dipped from last year.
Overnights Off For Week 12 Singleheader
- The Week 12 NFL singleheader window, featuring Seahawks/Buccaneers in 39% of markets or Giants/Browns in 26%, had an 11.0 overnight rating on FOX Sunday afternoon — down 17% from coverage featuring Giants/Washington last year (13.3) and down 15% from coverage featuring Lions/Patriots (12.9). The 11.0 overnight ranks fifth out of the 12 singleheader windows this season.
Same Overnight, But Mixed Results For Pac-12 Games on FOX
- FOX earned a 2.0 overnight rating for Friday’s Washington/Washington State college football game, up 67% from the same matchup last year (1.2), up 25% from Arizona/Arizona State in 2014 (1.6), and the network’s highest overnight for a Black Friday game (five telecasts). The following night, Utah/Colorado also pulled a 2.0 overnight — but that was down 57% from Notre Dame/Stanford last year (4.7). Compared to Notre Dame/USC in an afternoon window two years ago, the 2.0 increased a third from 1.5.
NHL Black Friday Overnights Down a Tick
- Rangers/Flyers scored a 1.0 overnight rating in the NHL’s Thanksgiving Showdown on NBC Friday afternoon, down a tick from Rangers/Bruins last year (1.1) but even with Rangers/Flyers in 2014. NBC’s annual Black Friday game has had either a 1.0 or 1.1 overnight in each year it has been played.
