Though down from last year, the NFL singleheader window held up better than in the previous two weeks.
The Week 12 NFL singleheader, featuring either Seahawks/Buccaneers or Giants/Browns in 65% of markets, had a 9.8 final rating and 16.8 million viewers on FOX last Sunday — down 20% in ratings and 18% in viewership from last year (12.3, 20.5M) and down 20% and 19%, respectively, from 2014 (12.2, 20.7M).
The telecast was a marked improvement over the previous two weeks. The singleheader had an 8.4 and 14.3 million on FOX in Week 11 and a 7.8 and 13.2 million on CBS in Week 10, the two lowest rated and least-watched editions this season.
Despite the recovery, it was the lowest rated and least-watched Week 12 singleheader since 2010 (9.3, 15.4M) — marking the fourth straight week that the singleheader has hit a multi-year low. Overall, half of the singleheader telecasts this season have hit lows and nine have posted a year-over-year decline.
