The Panthers’ descent took a toll on NBC Sunday night.
Panthers/Seahawks earned a 10.2 final rating and 17.8 million viewers on the Week 13 edition of NBC’s Sunday Night Football, down 8% in ratings and 7% in viewership from Colts/Steelers last year (11.1, 19.2M) and down 18% and 16%, respectively, from Broncos/Chiefs in 2014 (12.5, 21.1M).
The Seahawks’ blowout win ranks as the lowest rated Week 13 edition of SNF since Vikings/Bears in 2008 (9.6) and the least-watched since Giants/Washington in 2012 (17.7M). Thirteen of NBC’s 17 NFL telecasts this season have hit multi-year lows in ratings and/or viewership, including all-but-one Sunday night game.
Sunday’s game was also the 12th of NBC’s 17 telecasts to finish below an 11.0 rating or 19 million viewers, compared to just three of the network’s 19 windows last year.
SNF scored a 6.1 rating in adults 18-49, down 9% from last year (6.7) and down 18% from 2014 (7.4).
