For the second straight week, NBC earned one of its top Premier League audiences of the season.
Last Saturday’s West Ham/Arsenal English Premier League match had a 0.6 final rating and 917,000 viewers on NBC, down a tick in ratings and 10% in viewership from Leicester City/Manchester United last year (0.7, 1.0M). There was no comparable telecast in week 14 of the 2014-15 season, which consisted of midweek matches.
Arsenal’s blowout win delivered the third-largest Premier League audience of the season, behind Chelsea/Tottenham the previous week (959K) and Manchester United/Hull City in week three (1.2M).
On cable, Everton/Manchester United was the weekend’s top draw with 550,000 last Sunday morning — up 52% from Liverpool/Swansea City last year (363K). Ratings also increased 52% (from 0.23 to 0.35). The previous morning’s Manchester City/Chelsea match ranked a distant second with a 0.3 and 393,000. There was no comparable window last year.
Rounding out the week 14 action, Bournemouth/Liverpool had a 0.2 (flat) and 373,000 (+37%) in Sunday’s early window and Tottenham/Swansea had a 0.2 (flat) and 360,000 (+6%) in Saturday’s mid-morning window.
