A Warrior wipeout sank overnight ratings for NBA Saturday Primetime.
Clippers/Warriors earned a 2.4 overnight rating on the latest edition of ABC’s NBA Saturday Primetime, down a tick from Spurs/Cavaliers last year (2.5) and the network’s lowest overnight for a Warriors game since another matchup with the Clippers in March 2015 (2.3).
Golden State’s 46-point win did top the day’s other major sporting event, the Kentucky/Kansas top five college basketball matchup on ESPN earlier in the evening (2.0). It also comfortably topped competing coverage of the UFC on FOX (1.5).
The following day, Thunder/Cavaliers scored a 2.5 overnight on ABC’s NBA Sunday Showcase — up 9% from Bulls/Clippers last year (2.3) but down 26% from the another Thunder/Cavaliers game in 2015 (3.4).
The Cavaliers’ win was the top sporting event of the weekend outside of the NFL Pro Bowl (4.6).
