Suspended Fanhouse.com personality Jay Mariotti was sentenced to probation and community service for his role in a recent domestic dispute.
Mariotti “pleaded no contest” to a single misdemeanor domestic violence charge on Thursday, under a plea deal that resulted in the other six charges against him being dismissed. The pundit was sentenced to three years probation, a year-long domestic violence course and several hours of community service.
Had he been convicted of the seven misdemeanor counts against him, Mariotti could have faced up to seven years incarceration.
With his domestic violence case now seemingly resolved, Mariotti is “anxious to get back to work,” according to his lawyer Nick Hanna.
Since his late August arrest, Mariotti has neither written for Fanhouse.com nor appeared on ESPN’s Around The Horn — where he has been a regular panelist since the show began eight years ago.
