It may not have been the top draw of the season, but Donovan McNabb‘s return to Philadelphia earned strong numbers for FOX.
The Week 4 NFL national window, featuring Washington/Eagles in 94% of TV markets, drew a 15.9 overnight rating on FOX Sunday — up 5% from last year (DAL/DEN*: 15.1) and up 4% from 2008 (WSH/DAL*: 15.3).
The 15.9 overnight is the second-lowest of the season for the NFL national window (four telecasts), ahead of only last week’s window on CBS (IND/DEN*: 14.2).
That said, the 15.9 would have been a season-high in Week 4 of last season, which goes to show how strong NFL numbers have been so far this year.
Earlier Sunday, regional action featuring Panthers/Saints drew a 9.3 overnight rating, up 6% from last year (NYG/KC*: 8.8), but down 4% from 2008 (GB/TB*: 9.7).
