Howard Latest ESPN Renewal
- ESPN has reached a multi-year contract extension with college football analyst Desmond Howard, the 20th renewal the network has announced since its massive layoffs last month. Howard, who joined ESPN in 2005, will continue in his current roles on College Gameday and College Football Live, and add a new game analyst role on select midweek games during the season. ESPN Quartet to Work on ABC Antique
- ESPN broadcasters Mike Greenberg and Joe Tessitore will host a reboot of the 1970s relic Battle of the Network Stars on ABC this summer, it was announced today. Colleagues Cassidy Hubbarth and Cari Champion will also appear on the show as sideline reporters. [ESPN PR 5.30b]
Johnson, Jackson, Tasked With BIG3
- Fox Sports last week named Gus Johnson and Jim Jackson the broadcast team for its BIG3 basketball coverage, set to begin next month. The duo, which calls college basketball games together during the season, will be joined on the sidelines by Michael Rapaport, an actor. [Fox Sports]
