FOX earned the best overnight of the season for Sunday’s NFL national window.
The Week 12 NFL national window, featuring the Bears’ win over the Eagles in 73% of TV markets, drew an 18.0 overnight rating on FOX Sunday afternoon — up 10% from Week 12 last year (CHI/MIN*: 16.3), and up 11% from Week 12 in 2008 (NYG/AZ*: 16.2).
The 18.0 overnight is the highest of the season for an NFL telecast on any network, topping the previous high set by the NFL Kickoff Game on NBC (MIN/NO: 17.7).
Additionally, this marks the highest regular season NFL overnight since last year’s Week 13 national window on FOX (DAL/NYG*: 18.9).
FOX has now drawn four of the five largest NFL overnights of the season, and five of the top seven.
For the eleventh time in twelve weeks, the NFL national window drew a higher overnight than Sunday Night Football on NBC (SD/IND: 13.0).
Earlier in the day, regional action featuring Packers/Falcons in 72% of TV markets earned a 12.3 overnight, up 32% from last year (WSH/PHI*: 9.4), and up 38% from 2008 (SF/DAL*: 8.9).
The 12.3 is the highest of the season for the first game of an NFL doubleheader. The previous high came in Week 9 (MIA/BAL*: 12.0, CBS).
Overall, FOX averaged a 15.2 overnight rating for Sunday’s NFL doubleheader, the network’s highest overnight for a doubleheader since 1996 (17.9).
