Sunday’s battle between the Packers and Patriots earned one of NBC’s largest regular season NFL audiences since the network resumed airing games in 2006.
The Patriots’ win over the Packers drew a 14.0 final rating and 24.166 million viewers on NBC Sunday night, up 27% in ratings and 33% in viewership from Week 15 last year (MIN/CAR: 11.0, 18.187 mil), and up 2% and 5%, respectively, from 2008 (NYG/DAL: 13.7, 23.053 mil).
Packers/Patriots ranks as the sixth-most viewed NFL telecast on NBC since the network resumed airing games in 2006.
Eight of the eleven most-viewed regular season games on NBC have taken place this season alone.
Sunday’s telecast was NBC’s tenth of the season to draw at least 20 million viewers, surpassing last year’s full-season total of seven. Overall, 29 NFL telecasts have drawn at least 20 million viewers this season, up from 26 all of last season.
Sunday Night Football was the highest rated, most-viewed primetime program of the week on broadcast, and also ranked #1 in all key adult and male demographics — including adults 18-49 (8.6).
