A thrilling finish between two big-market teams helped FOX to its highest singleheader rating of the season.
The Week 15 NFL singleheader window on FOX earned a 13.0 final rating and 21.881 million viewers on FOX Sunday afternoon, up 18% in ratings and 25% in viewership from Week 15 last year (CIN/SD*: 11.0, 17.476 mil, CBS).
The telecast featured the Eagles’ thrilling 38-31 win over the Giants in 50% of TV markets. The Eagles won on a game-winning punt return for a touchdown as time expired.
This marks the highest rated singleheader window of the season on any network, and the second-most viewed. The only telecast to draw more viewers was the Week 3 singleheader on FOX (DAL/HOU*: 22.237 mil).
So far this season, the singleheader window has topped 20 million viewers on four separate occasions — compared to zero such telecasts last year.
The singleheader window was the highest rated television program of the week in at least eight NFL markets — New Orleans (NO/BAL: 45.7), Philadelphia (PHI/NYG: 33.5), Dallas (WSH/DAL: 26.1), Atlanta (ATL/SEA: 24.8), Detroit (DET/TB: 23.4), Washington, D.C. (22.9), Seattle (ATL/SEA: 20.9), and New York (PHI/NYG: 20.0).
