The last NFL singleheader of the season scored in the overnights Sunday afternoon.
The Week 16 NFL singleheader window, featuring Jets/Bears as the primary game, drew a 15.4 overnight rating on CBS Sunday afternoon — up 64% from Week 16 last year (CAR/NYG: 9.4, FOX), and up 8% from Week 16 in 2008 (PIT/TEN: 14.3, CBS).
The 15.4 is the highest overnight for the NFL singleheader window on CBS since the network regained NFL rights in 1998. The previous high was 14.3, set both in Week 6 this year and Week 16 in ’08.
Additionally, the 15.4 is the highest for the singleheader window on either FOX or CBS dating back to at least 2003.
The telecast nearly matched the Week 16 national window on FOX (NYG/GB*: 15.6)
The singleheader window topped a 14.0 overnight on four separate occasions this season.
