Final ratings and viewership for Sunday’s Packers/Eagles game on FOX are already available. But first, a look at the game’s twenty-year high in overnight ratings.
The Packers’ win over the Eagles earned a 24.4 overnight rating on FOX Sunday afternoon, up 12% from last year (GB/ARI: 21.8), and up 23% from 2009 (PHI/MIN: 19.9).
The 24.4 is the highest overnight for any NFL Wild Card game since the 1990-91 season (CHI/NO: 24.9, CBS). The previous 20-year high was a 24.2 for Packers/49ers in ’99.
Dating back to the 1998-99 season, the three highest Wild Card overnights — and four of the top five — have all been for games involving the Packers.
The game drew a 50.5 in Milwaukee and a 40.4 in Philadelphia.
The 20-year high for Packers/Eagles was the third of four Wild Card games to hit a multi-year high. On NBC, Saints/Seahawks drew the highest early Saturday Wild Card overnight since ’91, and Jets/Colts drew the highest late Saturday Wild Card overnight since ’99.
