Absent the enormous hype surrounding his first game back last year, LeBron James‘ second game in Cleveland was not exactly a ratings blockbuster on NBA TV.
Tuesday’s Heat/Cavaliers Fan Night game earned a 0.35 U.S. rating and 504,000 viewers on NBA TV. The game was James’ second in Cleveland since departing the Cavaliers as a free agent last summer.
James’ first game back drew 4.2 and 7.096 million viewers on TNT last December. Of course, TNT is available in approximately 50 million more homes than NBA TV.
While Tuesday’s game did well relative to NBA TV, it was not even the network’s most-viewed telecast of the season. That distinction belongs to March 8 Trail Blazers/Heat Fan Night game, which drew 681,000 viewers.
Though the numbers were not particularly high, NBA TV actually outdrew both ESPN and ESPN2 among men 18-34 Tuesday night.
