FOX and CBS will air the lion’s share of NFL games during the 2011-12 season, and as such feature some of the league’s highest profile matchups.
The Week 1 national window on FOX features what should be an emotionally-charged matchup between Washington and the New York Giants on September 11, the ten-year anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks.
Two weeks later, the network’s national window returns with the season’s first rematch between rivals — and AFC Championship Game foes — the Packers and Bears.
Later in the season, FOX offers viewers some potentially tantalizing matchups, including Cowboys/Patriots (10/16) and the defending champion Packers facing the Lions on Thanksgiving Day.
Over on CBS, the schedule is dotted with intriguing games, including Michael Vick and the Eagles squaring off against the Patriots (11/27) and Jets (12/18). The Packers make two appearances on the network, including one in the Week 4 national window (vs. DEN, 10/2).
CBS’ Thanksgiving Day game features the Dolphins and Cowboys.
