Michael Vick is no longer radioactive for one of the nation’s most prominent companies.
Nike has signed Eagles QB Michael Vick to an endorsement deal, the company confirmed Friday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Vick was a Nike endorser from 2001 to 2007. The company dropped him in 2007 after he admitted his involvement in a dogfighting ring.
A Nike spokesman said that while the company does “not condone” the actions that led to Vick’s eventual prison sentence, it supports “the positive changes he has made to better himself off the field” (cnbc.com, 7/1).
Vick was once the most hated man in sports. He has since been arguably surpassed by LeBron James and Tiger Woods, who committed the crimes of hubris and marital infidelity, respectively.
