NBC’s final edition of Breakfast at Wimbledon probably did not leave the network hungry for more.
Sunday’s coverage of Wimbledon on NBC, featuring the Novak Djokovic/Rafael Nadal Men’s Final, earned a 2.1 overnight rating — up 11% from last year (Berdych/Nadal: 1.9), but down 50% from 2009 (Federer/Roddick: 4.2).
The 2.1 overnight is the second-lowest for the Men’s Final at Wimbledon since at least 1996 (overnights prior to 1997 were not available). Only last year’s match drew worse numbers.
On Saturday, coverage featuring the Petra Kvitov?/Maria Sharapova Women’s Final drew a 1.8 overnight, even with last year (S. Williams/Zvonareva: 1.8), but down 33% from 2009 (S. Williams/V. Williams: 2.7).
The 1.8 is tied as the lowest overnight for the Women’s Final since at least 1994 (overnights prior to 1995 were not available).
