Ratings improved substantially for coverage of last week’s PGA Tour Canadian Open on CBS.
CBS earned a 1.8 final rating and 2.500 million viewers for final round coverage of the Canadian Open last Sunday, up 50% in ratings and 48% in viewership from last year (1.2, 1.692M), and up 157% and 153%, respectively, from rained out coverage in 2009 (0.7, 988K).
This year’s final round ranks as the highest rated and most-viewed since the event moved to its current mid-summer date in 2007.
In addition, the final round is tied as the highest rated PGA Tour telecast since the Crowne Plaza Invitational in May (excludes majors).
Third round action last Saturday drew a 1.0 and 1.375 million viewers, up 25% in ratings and viewership from last year (0.8, 1.098M), and up 67% and 62%, respectively, from rained out coverage in 2009 (0.6, 851K).
