The Rose Bowl situation will be interesting in years to come. I have no fault on them wanting to mainstay the game on NYD (or January 2nd, if NYD is on a Sunday) at 2 or 2:30 local time regardless of CFP year or not, but they will need strong support from all 5 current conferences. For now, we’ll have to see how the realignment look over the next few years and rather expanding the CFP would be the correct move. It’s evident that having the Semi-Finals on NYD is more effective than prior. The Rose Bowl can’t have it where they have that slot every year in the condition following the BCS move to cable 10 years ago dating back to January. Their only hope is for the CFP to expand and have the other New Year Bowls rotate the other semi-final game while letting the remaining 4 be the Quarterfinal game. I believe that’s possible, but there would be plenty of disappointing College Football fans in the Southeast region along with Texas and Oklahoma, especially after how everything displayed itself last Winter and the Rose Bowl not allowing players and coaches families to attend the game if it was in Pasadena.

I did see the Malice at the Palice doc and I won’t speak much into to avoid spoiler alert. As a Pistons fan, I never felt so sick. It past the level of watching the Spurs beating us in Games 5 & 7 of the NBA Finals several months later and also past the level of seeing LeBron James beat us late by his-self in Game 5 of the 2007 ECF. That’s how sick I was. I didn’t see the Malice happened live. I was invited to a birthday party on that Friday night. However, when I came home and had the TV on ESPN I remember them showing and talking about it with a surprised reaction on my side questioning what will be done next. And at this time, Sportscenter was live at 11 eastern and sometimes at 1AM eastern (way before Verrett/Everett) and never was LIVE in the morning, so everything was replayed even going past the morning dawn. That was YouTube and TikTok in 2004.

Field of Dreams will be back next season with the Cubs and Reds playing the game. My only suggestion would be is to have the game on Sunday Night Baseball and consider it being exclusively on ABC or simulcast on ABC.
