The first NFL national window of the season was flat compared to last year’s FOX record.
The Week 1 NFL national window, featuring Giants/Washington in 63% of markets, earned a 17.1 overnight rating on FOX Sunday — flat compared to last year (GB/PHI*: 17.1), and up 14% from 2009 (WSH/NYG*: 15.0).
The 17.1 overnight ties last year as the highest for the Week 1 NFL telecast ever on FOX.
As is typical, the national window earned the best numbers of the day, topping Sunday Night Football game on NBC (DAL/NYJ: 16.9).
Earlier in the day, regional action featuring Eagles/Rams in 46% of markets drew an 8.9 overnight, down a tick from last year (CAR/NYG*: 9.0), and down 5% from 2009 (DAL/TB*: 9.4).
