Ratings and viewership were mixed for last week’s college football doubleheader on ABC.
The Week 5 edition of Saturday Night Football, pitting #8 Nebraska against #7 Wisconsin, earned a 3.5 final rating and 5.753 million viewers on ABC — up 17% in ratings and 18% in viewership from last year (STAN/ORE*: 3.0, 4.866M), but down 27% in both measures compared to 2009 (OU/MIA*: 4.8, 7.834M).
The game was outdrawn head-to-head by #3 Alabama/#12 Florida on CBS (4.6, 7.593M).
Earlier in the day, regional coverage including Michigan State/Ohio State earned a 3.6 and 5.472 million viewers, down 18% in ratings and 22% in viewership from last year (TEX/OU*: 4.4, 6.996M), but up 39% and 42%, respectively, from 2009 (FSU/BC*: 2.6, 3.853M).
Keep in mind last year’s game featured the Texas/Oklahoma rivalry game in 62% of markets.
