- Controversial former major leaguer John Rocker will have an exclusive interview on CBS’ The Early Show tomorrow morning. In recent days, Rocker has made several allegations against Major League Baseball, including accusing MLB Commissioner Bud Selig of turning a blind eye to a steroid test the former Braves pitcher failed.
- CSTV will be rebranded as the CBS College Sports Network in March, with the start of the NCAA Tournament. CBS is hoping the rebranding effort will help boost distribution for the network. Currently in 25 million homes, CSTV was acquired by CBS in November ’05, and was integrated into CBS Sports last month.
- With the Olympics already airing on NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, USA, Bravo and Telemundo, one would imagine the event is in danger of slight overexposure. NBC Universal does not quite agree, as the Oxygen network — acquired by NBCU last year — will air daily Olympic coverage this summer. Oxygen, the Versus to Lifetime’s ESPN, will air female skewing sports such as gymnastics, equestrian, and synchronized swimming.
