With the Isiah Thomas era looking like it may end this week, one recent poll may be a microcosm of what he has accomplished with the New York Knicks.
A new Siena College poll finds that 2% of New Yorkers call the New York Knicks their favorite team, while 3% favor the hated rival Boston Red Sox. This comes off a season where ratings for New York Knicks games on MSG fell behind those of the NHL’s New York Rangers.
It was not all bad for the Knicks; even though they fell behind the Red Sox, Sabres and Bills, they did finish ahead of Jets, Syracuse Orangemen and the Rangers, with the New York Islanders not even making the list.
