- The Lakers’ presence helped boost the numbers for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. TNT drew 6.2 million viewers for the Lakers’ Game 1 victory over San Antonio, the largest audience for any NBA Playoff game on cable this year. Compared to Game 1 of last year’s Eastern Conference Finals, which TNT televised exclusively, the 6.2 million viewers is up 59%.
- The UEFA Champions League Final drew impressive numbers on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes yesterday afternoon. ESPN2 drew a 0.8 rating with 1.1 million viewers for the match between Chelsea and Manchester United, making it the highest rated, most viewed UEFA telecast in network history. Combined with the audience from ESPN Deportes, the match drew 1.3 million viewers.
- Last Saturday’s NASCAR All Star Race brought Speed Channel its largest ever audience. Speed drew a 2.5 national rating and a network record 4.2 million viewers for the race, up 14% and 11% from a 2.2 rating and 3.8 million viewers last year.
