NASCAR put up strong numbers again last Sunday, but it was not enough to beat yet another Disney musical.
The Toyota Save Mart 350 drew a 3.7 rating with 6.0 million viewers, good for cable, but down 2% and 7% from a 3.8 with 6.5 million viewers last year. The race was the second highest rated event on cable for the week, finishing behind Camp Rock on Disney Channel, which drew a hefty 4.7 rating with 8.9 million viewers.
Through three races, TNT is averaging a 3.6 rating with 5.7 million viewers, up 6% and 2% respectively from a 3.4 with 5.6 million viewers last year.
In other cable ratings news, the first two hours of the U.S. Open playoff on June 16 finished fifth for the week on cable. ESPN drew a stellar 3.6 rating with 4.8 million viewers for its coverage, which began at 12:00 PM ET.
